Antique World Map 1839 — Willard, Universal History
Description
An old world map from Emma Willard's historical atlas
A plate from the Atlas to accompany A system of universal history, published in New York by F. J. Huntington and Co in 1839. The Library of Congress record describes the volume as a whole: hand-colored maps, relief in hachures, and plates that draw only the world known in each period, covering the rest with opaque clouds. The sheet has no title of its own, and the record names neither the printing technique nor the period.
